When we start a miniature project, be it a dollhouse or a miniature scene, what we are really doing is an interior design, but we often get carried away by the illusion and ideas that come to mind, this is the most normal thing, and in the best of cases, we will mature the idea for a long time in our head, contributing and discarding ideas. This is actually an interior design project. We could do plans and sketches, but the advantage we have is that we make miniatures, we do not need industrial or large investments as in real scale interior design, so we can do tests directly on the scene although it would be good to follow some premises that will help us acquire the right objects necessary for the harmony of the scene.

1. Choose the client

Yes the customer !! It can be your favorite doll, an invented character or yourself. This step is important because it is the one that will define the base of the project, we have to think about how our client is, what he likes to do when he is at home, what he does in his free time if he lives alone or accompanied etc. If the client is you already have a lot of livestock, you can think for example in that room that you have always wanted to have with large windows full of plants or that nice reading corner just imagine yourself in the scene and you see finding out what you need so that the scene is complete.

2. Do not abuse color

Choose two or three main colors that combine well, you can choose more colors but, more colors, is harder to combine them together so that more combinations are created and that limits us placing some objects next to others, if you choose three colors that combine between them in any position, you will have more possibilities to order the objects in the scene.

3. The importance of light

Light is for me the most important thing of the project, even if the colors are not the most successful with good lighting, incredible environments are created. Make natural light reach the sifted scene or through a lattice window there are thousands of options, create a window and play with light trying different ways to filter it. It uses lamps of warm and sifted light that create cozy atmospheres, with several points of light different atmospheres can be created in a same scene.

4. A personal touch

Now that you have the scene ready, something important is missing, to give it life. Introduce elements that give the project personality such as photos, pictures, books, boxes, plants or whatever you can think of here. The important thing is that the scene of the sensation that someone has lived there lives, works or dreams in that space.

With these simple steps you will achieve scenes that when you look at them you will think, they will make you fly your imagination and enjoy during the whole process of creation.
